Employment & Wages by Industry

Estimates of employment and wages by industry are produced by KYSTATS Quarterly Census of Employment & Wages (QCEW) program. As a true census, the QCEW program covers all employers subject to unemployment insurance tax. Quarterly data by industry are available at both the state and sub-state level. In addition, upon request, QCEW data may be available for custom geographies and at industry levels more specific than those provided in the files below.

Employment and Wages by Industry Aggregated quarterly employment, total wages, and average weekly wages for all Kentucky counties and Local Workforce Areas at the sector level, back to 1990.
Employment Activity Report A dashboard designed to allow users to visualize and explore trends in QCEW data, as well as estimates from the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Business Employment Dynamics (BED) and Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) programs.
Business Employment Dynamics Quarterly statistics from the Bureau of Labor Statistics' Businesses Employment Dynamics program on the dynamics underlying net changes in employment. These data include the number and rates of gross jobs gained at opening and expanding establishments, as well as the number and rates of gross jobs lost by closing and contracting establishments, back to Q3 1992.
Current Employment Statistics (Available from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). Monthly estimates of industry employment are available from the sample-based Current Employment Statistics (CES) program at the statewide and Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) levels. Both seasonally adjusted and non-seasonally adjusted estimates are available.
